#13 When Lurch was in the ME a couple of months ago he asked Iran into dragging us into yet another Middle East (aka endless) war just ahead of the 2020 elections. That way they could both be rid of Trump and life would get easy for them again. |

#12 Iranian proxies owned by neocons in the CIA for an inside job red flag attack meant to justify an Saudi attack on Iran via the US military. [Rest of this post self deleted after conferring a Kabbalah inspired comparison between The Jay Treaty an Rantburg's Return Policy] |

#11 The Houtis have some drones that could perhaps make it to Abquib but not carrying much more than a couple of 5 kg bombs. They would likely have been picked up by the various radar networks that the Saudis have in the south and the Saudis have been successful in knocking previously launched drones when they picked them up on radar. |

#8 Yes. In fact Yemen is almost twice as far (800 miles by the most direct route) as the 450 mile range of the drones. There is no physical way the attack originated from Yemen. |

#7 Iran's cruise missiles (the debris IDs these)can fly about 450 mi at the low altitudes they use. That is further than Yeman to Abqaiq. Apparently Iran sent a wave of drones preceding the Cruise missiles which confused the saudis. |

#6 This would be the same intelligence community who lied to us and swore on a stack of Bibles that Iraq had WMD? Or more recently swore, I mean totally you can trust us, that they weren't spying on us, in violation of US law. And then Snowden happened and it turned out they were a bunch of dirty liars. And the same ones who swore up and down that Trump was a Russian spy. Shall I go on? What do you call a government agency that doesn't make accurate predictions? If the Weather Service had the reputation they did, what would we say? |

#5 It certainly fits with the May and August attacks being probes. |

#3 Seems too amateur. Why not launch from actual Houthi-controlled territory ? The Houthi are known and admitted Iranian proxies anyway. The attack is a calculated act of exploratory aggression. This behavior by Iran is not unprecedented. The sanctions may hurt Iran, but the Iranian regime seems to be undeterred. Unfortunately their dismissal of Western bluster is a rational response. |
