#4  We all thought the casualties claimed against North Vietnam were inflated but post war statement from Vietnam pretty much confirmed them .

#3  Afghanistan is the shithole country of all time. Has been forever the only army able to subdue them was lead by Alexander the Great in 3rd century BC and even he couldn't believe what a shithole country it was.

They do supply all the heroin to Rock Stars and Hollywood elites though so they got that going for them.

#1  The veracity of these reported casualty figures is questionable really. Even adjusting for a little double entry and habitual inflation of op success by militaries, the reported numbers of taliban dying are close to 30 per day. Can they really be in a negotiating position with the US and China with such losses ?

"Say, the gentlemen that came with you last meeting. He's not here today Mullah Baroodi ? "

"He... uhhh, got a cold. Heh heh...sniff."

I would love to believe this rate of inflicted casualty, but the recent discovery of the 'ghost soldiers' thing begs the question : What if some of these are 'ghost casualties' ? Inflated numbers to let the foreign forces think they are really accomplishing something in this place.

Because for a group dying in such great numbers per week, the taliban are not really giving a shit.
