#3 I don't think Indian politicians are going to care what Kashmir deems legal or not with the public wanting blood. Though the three men are going to be dead in a year or two from "Accidents". |

#2 In the wake of gruesome Kathua rape (this very case), the central government passed the ordinance to amend the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO,2012) Act to grant death penalty for the rape of children under the age of 12. Public outrage over Kathua rape case along with other incidents of rape of children in the country drove the government to show urgency in its action. However, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act is not valid in the state of Jammu and Kashmir where the incident of rape of 8-year-old occurred. This is because they don't want to give up their sense of autonomy and... ding ! Sharia. |

#1 This is also due to the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. If unlike the current Ranbir Penal Code, the uniform Constitutional POCSO Act applied in the state, they would be hanged. |
