| Students suffer heavy casualties after a mortar round hits a school in Ghazni |

| [KhaamaPress] At least four students were killed and 17 others including two school teachers were maimed after a mortar round hit a school in southeastern Ghazni province. Provincial governor’s front man Arif Noori confirmed the incident and said at least four students were killed after a mortar round hit a school in Andar district at around 8:30am local time. Noori further added that a clash was underway between Talibs and security forces when the mortar round hit the school compound. According to Noori, it is yet not clear who had fired the mortar round but a delegation has been sent to investigate the incident. The anti-government armed snuffies including Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... have not commented regarding the incident so far. Ghazni is among the relatively volatile provinces in southeastern parts of Afghanistan. Talibs are active in some of the districts of Ghazni and often attempt to carry out attacks against the government and security institutions. |
