[KhaamaPress] The Afghan armed forces have repelled two Taliban ...Arabic for students... attacks in western Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... and Farah provinces of Afghanistan, leaving more than 20 holy warriors dead or maimed. The 207th Zafar Corps in a statement said a clash took place between armed forces and Taliban in Highway#1 of Farah province which resulted into the killing of 5 Talibs while 6 others sustained injuries. The statement further added that a local commander of the group identified as Mullah Helal was also among those killed. In the meantime, the 207th Zafar Corps said a separate clash took place between armed forces and Taliban in Pashtun Zarghoon district that left at least 4 holy warriors dead and 7 others maimed. The 207th Zafar Corps also added that the festivities took place after Talibs attacked security outposts in the two provinces. The anti-government armed holy warriors including Taliban have not commented regarding the festivities so far. |
