| Abu Sayyaf kills soldier, injures three in Patikul |

| [Yahoo] A clash in Sulu that broke out between members of the Philippine Army and the Abu Sayyaf yesterday morning left one soldier dead and three others injured. The two groups clashed in the village of Igasan in the town of Patikul. The terrorists retreated to other areas when the battle ended after 20 minutes. The military launched airstrikes towards the places in which the rebels were suspected to have fled. The military is uncertain if the group they fought with yesterday included Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan, the mastermind behind the bloody cathedral bombing in Jolo last month. |
