According to a source in Latakia city, Russian jets are watching the situation very closely in the Jabal al-Zawiyah and Jisr al-Shughour regions of Idlib as both Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham
and Tanzim Hurras al-Deen appear on the path to war.The source said that the Russian Air Force is primarily using their IL-20 spy planes which are usually seen flying over the jihadist positions when an offensive is looming or a drone attack was launched on the Hmeimim Airport.
Should a jihadist civil war break out in western Idlib, the Syrian Arab Army and their Russian allies may take advantage of this upheaval and begin retaking land from these groups.
