Senior ISIS leader confesses to capturing, parading Peshmerga
2018-11-15
[Rudaw] A senior ISIS leader has confessed to multiple crimes on behalf of the group, including taking Peshmerga captive and parading them in public, a court in Baghdad announced on Wednesday.

"Abu Hamza al-Kurdi had committed many crimes," read a statement from Iraq’s High Judicial Council.

Kurdi was ISIS ’wali’ [governor] for Kirkuk and prior to that Baghdad.

Among the crimes he has been indicted for "taking 21 officers and some Peshmerga and filming them in orange jumpsuits put in iron cages and then paraded before the public" in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, the statement added.

In a night attack on Kurdish forces in the winter of 2015, ISIS faceless myrmidons captured 45 Peshmerga. The remains of three have been found in mass graves in Hawija. The fate of the rest are unknown.

ISIS released video showing at least 18 Peshmerga in cages on public display in Hawija, sparking outrage across the Kurdistan Region.

The court said Kurdi will be dealt with according to Article 1 of the Anti-Terror Law.

Hawija was one of the last areas to be liberated from ISIS in Iraq. The murderous Moslem group was declared defeated in December 2017, but remains a security threat.

In the war against ISIS, more than 1,800 Peshmerga were killed and 10,000 were maimed.
