Senior IS leader killed in explosion on borders between Diyala, Salahuddin
Diyala (IraqiNews.com) A senior Islamic State leader was killed in an explosion on borders with Salahuddin province, a security source said on Friday.
Speaking to Baghdad Today website, the source said “ Emir-ul Jund [leader of soldiers] in the so-called Diyala State, known as Abu Baraa, was killed in an explosion of a rest house in the outskirts of Mutaibija, on borders between Diyala, Salauddin.”
Abu Baraa, according to the source, who preferred anonymity, “is considered an important Islamic State leader.”

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi forces have announced arresting the perpetrators of an explosion caused by booby-trapped vehicle in Kirkuk.
In a statement on Saturday, Maj. Gen. Saad Maan, commander of the special forces, said “a booby-trapped vehicle was blown up on Saturday evening in al-Mamdouda district, east of the province, leaving eight people injured, including children.”
The militants, according to Maan, “exploded the vehicle after they failed to move it to another place, especially after being watched for the forces.”
