Taliban militants, civilians suffer heavy casualties in a premature car bomb explosion
2018-10-13
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least nineteen, people including Talibs and ordinary civilians, were killed or maimed in a premature boom-mobile kaboom in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North in a statement said the incident has taken place in the vicinity of Khwaja Namosi Bazar, leaving at least ten murderous Moslems and five civilians dead.

The statement further added that the Talibs were looking to detonate the boom-mobile in Maimana city to target security forces or the electoral campaigns.

However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
the 209th Shaheen Corps said the boom-mobile went prematurely as the murderous Moslems were transporting it to the city, leaving ten murderous Moslems dead and four others maimed.

According to the 209th Shaheen Corps, at least five civilians also bit the dust in the kaboom.

#3  Perhaps times have changed.
We were once prohibited from developing an offensive SS7 capability which would initiate calls on any powered cell phone within range of a targeted cell tower. It was considered 'BAM' calls were likely to cause too much collateral damage.

#2  When I worked offshore on oil rigs we had to shut down all radio operations when loading sidewall core or perforating guns - I presume sometimes stray radio signals could trigger the detonators. Perhaps we have (or could) design radio transmitters to purposely trigger stuff...
