He was quoted as saying by Interfax news agency that manned space flights would be suspended until an investigation into the causes of the malfunction is completed. "Soyuz" made an emergency landing near the city of Zhezkazgan in central Kazakhstan after its booster rockets failed in mid-air en route to the International Space Station. It had a Russian cosmonaut and a US astronaut on board. | |

#6 SpaceX has been flying resupply for a while now. So supply is not an issue. Supposedly they should have a man-rated bird ready to go next summer. |

#5 Scott Manley has a good breakdown of what happened and possible options. I'm just glad the escape system worked (for the 3rd time). What really infuriates me is that there is still no good option to get astronauts to the ISS except 50 year old Soviet designs. Talk about being short sighted and hamstringing yourself... |

#1 How long will it take to get another Logistics run aside the Crew? May we run two loads? but I need one up there right now. I need resupply. Let's get food rotated now and crew when you can unless you can make another run together like this one was supposed to be. I'm losing lots of Cargo, but By GOD, I have not lost an Astronaut yet. |
