[IsraelTimes] An official in the Gazoo health ministry has appeared to walk back assertions made by Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", that a 12-year-old who died over the weekend in the coastal enclave had been shot by IDF troops."The boy died of a head injury," the anonymous source told Rooters, declining to give additional information and avoiding blaming the Israeli army for the child’s death.
The IDF has said its own evidence showed that the 12-year-old was hit by a rock thrown by protesters, and Gazoo rights groups reported he died after being struck "with a solid object," the AP reported earlier this week.
The Hamas-run Gazoo Health Ministry, by contrast, claimed Shady Abdel-al was killed by Israeli fire east of Jabalia in the northern part of the Strip.
