POTUS rips Soetoro, says he would have stopped Russia's annexation of Crimea
2018-07-12
[Washington Examiner] President Trump said Thursday that he would not have allowed Russia's military intervention in Ukraine that allowed it to annex Crimea in 2014, and blamed former President Barack Obama for allowing it to happen.

"Long before I got here, President Obama allowed that to happen," Trump told reporters in Belgium just days before he's set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "That was on his watch, not on my watch."

"That was on Barack Obama's watch, that was not on Trump's watch," he added.

#7  Talinn also has a NATO regional campus flyint the NATO flag that would be politically bad optics that the Russians AND NATO members would have to deal with/exploit in any "redistricting" Vlad might want to pursue.
A stop sign anyway.

#5  The Baltic states are indefensible.

No more than Finland is indefensible. The difference is that the Finns choose to have a credible armed force. Whereas the Balts don't have a single tank or interceptor among them. They are relying exclusively on the kindness of strangers. They will resist to the last dead American.

#4  The Baltic states are indefensible. I have no idea why they're in NATO.

All I can think is a jumping off point closer to Moscow, for Operation Barbarossa Part 2: Only We Bring Winter Coats This Time.

#3  How is the question. I don't know if there were enough things we could bring pressure on the Russians with at that time to bring about a diplomatic solution.

The Baltic states are easier. Put US troops on the ground.
