| Suspect arrested in Gujranwala over minor’s rape |

| [DAWN] GUJRANWALA: Police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly raping a minor girl in Eimanabad. A case was registered against the suspect at Eimanabad police station. A five-year-old girl went to a shop to buy sweets where the shopkeeper allegedly lured her inside and raped her. Locals gathered outside the shop when they heard the girl’s cries and handed over the suspect to police. Scores of people, including students, teachers and activists of religious parties, protested and shouted slogans against the police and government over increasing incidents of child abuse. They demanded the alleged rapist be hanged in public. |
