Operations against Taliban to resume after President Ghani’s announcement: MoD

group turbans will resume after the ceasefire period extended by the Afghan government ended late on Friday night.

MoD front man Gen. Mohamamd Radmanish informed regarding the resumption of the operations as he was speaking during a presser shortly after President Ghani said the ceasefire with the Taliban has come to an end.

He said the ceasefire was originally announced from 27th of the holy month of Ramadan until the 5th day of Eid al-Fitr and was subsequently extended for another ten days by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani

Gen. Radmanish further added that the ceasefire period has ended as per the instructions of President Ghani and the operations will resume similar to the past.

In regards to the latest operations conducted in the past 24 hours, Gen. Radmanish said at least 35 myrmidons, including five ISIS-K bad boyz were potted and at least 33 others sustained injuries.

Gen. Radmanish said the Afghan forces defended against the Taliban attacks in at least ten parts of the country while conducting counter-terrorism operations against al-Qaeda, ISIS, and other terror groups.

According to Gen. Radmanish, the Afghan forces also discovered and defused nine improvised bombs from various parts of the country during the same operations.
