Musharraf resigns as APML chairman |

[DAWN] Former president Pervez PervMusharraf ... former dictator of Pakistain, who was less dictatorial and corrupt than any Pak civilian government to date ... has resigned as the chairman of the All Pakistain Moslem League (APML), according to the new party chairman, Dr Mohammad Amjad. Dr Amjad told DawnNewsTV that Musharraf had tendered his resignation to the party on June 18 due to the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire. High Court's 2013 verdict which had disqualified him from politics for life. That verdict has been challenged on Musharraf's behalf in the Supreme Court, which had issued a directive earlier this month allowing him to file his nomination papers only if he returned and was present in the court hearing on June 13 in Lahore, cautioning that the fate of the papers would be subject to the final decision in the present case. |
