Harry Reid has Cancer
2018-05-15
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
... the charismatic now retired senator-for-life from Nevada, formerly majority leader, who was beaten to within an inch of his life by a treadmill ...
has undergone surgery for pancreatic cancer.

The operation, first reported on Twitter by KLAS-TV journalist George Knapp and confirmed by a source close to the powerful former politician, took place Monday morning.

"They caught it early. The doctors believe it went well, and he is expected to make a full recovery," the source told The Nevada Independent.

Reid, 78, served for 30 years in the Senate before retiring following a debilitating eye injury. He was succeeded by Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto.

Along with Republican former House Speaker John It is not pronounced 'Boner!' Boehner
... the occasionally weepy former establishmentarian leader of House Republicans...
, Reid is co-chair of the nascent MGM Resorts International Public Policy Institute at UNLV.

#14  Pancreatic cancer is a brutal and horribly painful way to die. I hate Harry Reid and everything he stood for, but not so much as to wish this sort of death on him.

He better start praying for God's mercy for all the things he's done, or this will just be a small sip of what awaits him in hell.

#13  I have known of older men who because of their advanced age have declined treatment. I think Harry wants to linger longer. All the men I was aware of having this have all died. One man quit smoking then two weeks later after quitting and treatment died.

#7  Pancreatic. Buh bye!

Not necessarily. If caught early (i.e. hasn't spread to other tissues yet) survival rates are much better today. But it is a severe surgery w/ removal of parts or all of the pancreas, stomach, gall bladder, and upper small intestines and then replumbing it all.

"They caught it early. The doctors believe it went well, and he is expected to make a full recovery,"
