| Civilians suffer casualties as blast rips through mini truck in Logar |

| [Khaama Press] At least two non-combatants were killed and another one was maimed in an kaboom in central Pashtun-infested Logar province of Afghanistan, the local authorities said Tuesday. The incident took place close to the lovely provincial capital late on Monday after a civilian vehicle struck a roadside mine. The provincial government media office in a statement said the kaboom destroyed the vehicle in Choni area at around 8 pm local time on Monday. The statement further added that the blast targeted a mini truck leaving two civilians dead and one maimed. The local security and police officials have launched an investigation in connection to the incident, the provincial police commandment added. The anti-government armed bully boy groups frequently use explosives materials for the roadside kaboomings and boom-mobileings to target the government staff and security personnel. However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... in majority of such incidents the ordinary civilians are targeted besides such bombings incur casualties to the security personnel and in some cases the Talibs themselves are killed or maimed. A total of 10,453 civilian casualties ‐ 3,438 people killed and 7,015 injured ‐ were documented in the 2017 Annual Report released last month by the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and the UN Human Rights Office. The report further added that the high number of casualties to the civilians were inflicted by suicide kabooms and other attacks using improvised bombs (IEDs). |
