US Oil Production hits new high |
2018-05-01 |
NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil production jumped 260,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 10.26 million bpd in February, the highest on record, the Energy Information Administration said in a monthly report on Monday. Production in Texas rose by 106,000 bpd to above 4 million bpd, also a record high based on the data going back to 2005. The Permian basin, which stretches across West Texas and eastern New Mexico, is the largest U.S. oilfield [and production there would be more, except the local pipelines are nearing capacity]. Output from North Dakota declined marginally to 1.15 million bpd, while output in the federal Gulf of Mexico rose by 89,000 bpd to 1.72 million bpd. |

#12 I enjoy the Waffle House from time to time. The local ones belonged for a time to a gentleman with a fondness for native wild flowers. About a decade ago he sold out and put his profits into a garden shop, but the new management is doing just fine. Waffle House takes the tae kwan do approach: do a few key things very well, and don’t fuss with fancy flourishes. |

#11 Plate lunch with a coke $ .75 at the Highway Cafe. Meatloaf, green beans, corn, and dinner role. But now we're talking when Ike was in the White House. Times, they have changed. |

#10 I can handle Waffle House. In and out for $10 w/mil discount, to include a nice tip. Waffle House is a 'no can do' for the wife. Don't think she's ever set foot in one. Waffle House alternatives, dinner for two around here, you'd better plan on $50. minimum. No, the dollar doesn't buy as much as it used to. |

#9 Fuel prices, though, are still rising. Or the value of the dollar is dropping. 8 years of creative money policies of the Fed and Treasury increasing the amount of dollars without backing coming home to roost. |
