#7 when your spaceplane or whatever has landed and the pilot is enjoying a refreshing beer Next year, and the future is here: "Oh dear, this is frightfully queer. You might think it funny, But, bartender, honey, I fear there's a rod in my beer." |

#6 Their spy ships were using lasers against our military planes (to blind pilots) in the 80s. |

#5 Recall the movie clip from 'Gravity' a couple of days ago? That's the scenario proposed. The Russians blew their own satellite and the shrapnal destroyed a shuttle and ISS. |

#4 I think i'd prefer using b-bs or something small and kinetic that would look like debris afterwards. Fired from the far side of the Earth so as to intersect the targets orbit and you have total deniability. With a satelite in a fixed orbit you could even do the math and fire the bb's so that they intersect x orbits later when your spaceplane or whatever has landed and the pilot is enjoying a refreshing beer in town. With a laser you have to get line of sight. |

#3 Real fun will begin when satellites have their own powerful lasers and can shoot back, or just shoot DOWN. |

#2 I think it would be much more fun to treat space as a giant vacuum tube and just have a war of electron beams in space... heh.. |
