In blow to Trump, Supreme Court won’t hear appeal of DACA ruling
2018-02-27 | |
Under a lower court order that remains in effect, the Department of Homeland Security must continue to accept renewal applications from the roughly 700,000 young people who are currently enrolled in the program, known as DACA. The administration had intended to shut the program down by March 5, but that deadline is now largely meaningless. In a brief order, the court said simply, "It is assumed the court of appeals will act expeditiously to decide this case."

#11 Ignore the headline. The SCOTUS only said that due process has to occur before they slap down the Ninth Circus Court. Again. |

#10 But government lawyers also asked the Supreme Court to take the highly unusual step of agreeing to hear the case, bypassing the appeals court. President Trump is in part driven by expediency. It's his trademark. The Supremos not so much. He's going to get his wish, but in due time. |

#9 Department of Homeland Security must continue to accept renewal applications from the roughly 700,000 young people who are currently enrolled in the program, known as DACA. Just reassign the IRS personnel, who handled the Tea Party non-profit paperwork, over to DHS to process them. |

#7 In blow to FIFY This is known as a punt, the court is hoping the Donks come to their senses and compromise to make it constitutional or hope that the appeal drags through 2020 before they have to hear it. |

#1 it is assumed that the 9th circuit will affirm the lower court ruling that the unconstitutional DACA executive order must remain in effect |
