#9  It is my considered opinion that any degree that has the word "studies" in it is less than useless. Gender, ethnic, victim, women's, ... Doesn't matter.

#8  I have a Physics BS and was two classes, and $8000, short of a Math BS. I then went for an MS in Computer Science: Computer Science "proofs" were undefinable mongrels between Physics and math, which the parentage of various parts varying as the need arises. Quite maddening.

#7  The students told Shaiken that they were going to take their complaints to the Department of Ethnic Studies...

Apparently, in addition to academic study the ES department also offers a de-facto forum for Social Justice redress. Who wudda thunk it?

#3  A reason for protest: "Our well-beings are being put on the line because of our emotional, mental, and physical stress that [Berkeley] is compounding with what is already going on in our every day lives"

If Bezerkeley students didn't protest so much, they would have sufficient time to prepare for their exams. I don't think they know what they are asking for as take-home exams can be "challenging."
