| Three injured in explosion near Ring Road in Peshawar |

| [DAWN] At least three people were maimed in a suspected hand grenade blast near MMC Hospital on Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire. 's Ring Road on Friday. Police officials termed the nature of the kaboom as a hand grenade blast, and said it may have taken place during an attempted kidnapping for ransom. However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... the case is still being investigated. A spokesperson from Rescue 1122 earlier said that five people had been injured in the blast and were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. Police officials later revised the number of casualties down, saying that three people had been injured in the blast. According to an official of the Paharipura cop shoppe, the kaboom occurred outside the hospital in Shinwari Town. |
