| Syrian forces shatter main ISIS defense line in central Syria, advance on large town |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] After liberating dozens of towns from ISIS throughout central Syria over the last fortnight, pro-government forces are now in a position to strike at one of the largest remaining jihadist strongholds in the region. Today, Syrian forces secured the settlements of al-Shalishat, Um Ten and al-Nabtiyah located near the Shumarriyah Mountain Chain in north-central Homs Governorate. In liberating al-Shalishat, Syrian Army troops became involved in a noteworthy battle against the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. By this advance, pro-government forces have secured almost every settlement in the area around the strategic town of Jibb al-Jarrah which is, following Uqayribat’s recent liberation, one of the most important ISIS strongholds left in central Syria. |
