Judge Blocks Trump Threat To Withhold 'Sanctuary City' Funds
2017-04-26
[HOSTED.AP.ORG] A federal judge on Tuesday blocked President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's attempt to withhold funding from "sanctuary cities" that do not cooperate with U.S. immigration officials, saying the president has no authority to attach new conditions to federal spending.

U.S. District Judge William Orrick issued the preliminary injunction in two lawsuits - one brought by the city of the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
, the other by Santa Clara County - against an executive order targeting communities that protect immigrants colonists from deportation.

The injunction will stay in place while the lawsuits work their way through court.

The judge rejected the administration's argument that the executive order applies only to a relatively small pot of money and said Trump cannot set new conditions on spending approved by Congress.

"Federal funding that bears no meaningful relationship to immigration enforcement cannot be threatened merely because a jurisdiction chooses an immigration enforcement strategy of which the president disapproves," the judge said.

They'll outsource it to Indians, Richard.

#8  I'm not that expert in the machinations of government funding, but as far as I know, judges have no authority or ability to disburse Federal Funds.

So - all the Trump administration needs to do (aside from laughing) is issue a two word response:

μολὼν λαβέ

Translated into English: "come and take them"

Popularized by King Leonidas I, in oombat, against the Persian forces of King Xerxes, at Thermopylae, 480 BC. .

#7  These "sanctuary" cities and states will become refugee camps.

#5  Interesting idea, Skid.

Problem with that would be the federal government engineering types actually running the grid.

Based on current observations, usually not the cream of the crop and more of a hindrance than a solution.

#3  Easy enough to federalize the national power grid in the interest of public safety. Protection from the SCADA hacking disruptors of course. Some heavy consumption zones will likely be impacted during the transition.

#2  Little bit of background on this piece of shit judge:

Orrick was also in the employ of the Department of Justice in 2010 when Arizona passed their immigration law known as SB 1070. The immigration law mirrored the Federal immigration laws that the Obama regime refused to enforce. In response to laws relating to immigration passed in Arizona in 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that immigration is the purview of the federal government, not the states. Orrick was involved in coordinating the Obama administration’s arguments against SB 1070

Judge William H. Orrick, III, granted the injunction just hours after the order was requested by the National Abortion Federation.
Even though the National Abortion Federation filed its claim only hours before, Orrick quickly decided in their favor that the abortionists they represent would, ironically, be “likely to suffer irreparable injury, absent an ex parte temporary restraining order, in the form of harassment, intimidation, violence, invasion of privacy, and injury to reputation, and the requested relief is in the public interest.”
Not only is Orrick essentially a tenured retainer of the Obama administration, his wife is a vocal abortion advocate. As a result, Orrick used his influence from the bench to issue a restraining order in 2015 against the advocacy group responsible for undercover videos purporting to show Planned Parenthood employees plotting to sell baby organs.

According to Public Citizen, a consumer rights advocacy group, Orrick donated approximately $30,000 to committees supporting Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign for president. He also helped raise an additional $200,000 in contributions to the Obama campaign, thus confirming his bundling activities.

In essence, he is a creature of the hard left and Obumble.

Also since the lawsuit is only brought by San Fran and Santa Clara county, it is void elsewhere.

So the judge broke the law by ordering this everywhere to stop.

These activist judges cannot be allowed to keep up this bullshit. At this point I could care less how it happens. The left has proven it is willing to do anything to shut us up. I say we return the favor in spades.

Happened frequently under Soetoro. I guess the judge can't remember those instances.
