Is State Champion Football Coach Going to Get Fired .... for Being White? |

#9 To get to this black middle class suburb of Dallas you travel through the blighted areas of South Dallas. Not only has this coach made them the top football team in the state, his academic influence has made the players the most accomplished team in the class room. The result has been millions of dollars in scholarships awarded to these young men. He should be 'celebrated', not just 'tolerated'. |

#8 It's been on the radio several times in the last few days, and everyone seems to support the coach. No one will admit to being the one who said, "Maybe we should get rid of this guy" or offered any reason why anyone would want to get rid of him. Leaving one to conclude it must be the elephant in the room. The school board. |

#7 If it was up to me, all middle school, high school and college athletic teams at public institutions would be eliminated...... Posted by Cheaderhead
The sports scholarship is the key, the gate. Without it, few would attend. How would one obtain that worthless piece of paper (the diploma cover story) for affirmative action employment ? |

#6 Not with you guys here - it's simply allowing the left to destroy yet more American institutions. |

#5 #4 I echo those sentiments, at least at the college level. If the NFL and NBA need "feeder" systems, let THEM pay for them just like MLB does with its minor league farm system. |

#4 If it was up to me, all middle school, high school and college athletic teams at public institutions would be eliminated. You want to have athletic clubs, fine. We will even let you use the facilities. But you figure out how to pay for it. Just don't expect the tax payer to pony up the money |

#3 So much for the mask, it was all about power. |

#2 players and parents of players are strongly supporting the coach but, if I were him, I'd be looking for another job anyway - maybe at a college |
