Islam is not source of terrorism, says Germany's Merkel |
2017-02-19 |
[AA.TR] Islam is not the source of terrorism, and Islamic scholars and Moslem countries should speak up against fundamentalists to make this clear to the world, Chancellor Angela Merkel ...current chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom... has said. In her address to the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Merkel underlined the importance of close cooperation with Moslem countries in defeating ISIS, Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... and international terrorism. "I think, those countries, first and foremost have to give a contribution. Because only in this way we would be able to convince people that it is not Islam that is the source of terrorism. But a falsely understood Islam," she said. "I expect from religious authorities of Islam to find strong language in order to delimitate peaceful Islam from terrorism committed in the name of Islam. We as non-Moslems cannot do this, it should be done by Islamic clergy and authorities," she added. Merkel said she had discussed the fight against terrorism during her meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim this morning in Munich. "I have just now addressed this issue with the Turkish prime minister. We know that particularly our NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... partner ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... is very much threatened through the challenge of international Islamist terrorism through ISIS, but also obviously the terrorism of PKK," she said. |

#13 "And who would know more about Islamic orthodoxy than a Lutheran Christian woman from Germany?" She's a woman from Germany who was taught theocratic totalitarian Christian Communism by her father? Why wouldn't she empathize with theocratic totalitarian Muslims? |

#12 Not all Germans were Nazis either. Seem we had to go through a lot of them and lay waste to the country to get to them though. |

#10 ...isn't Assad an alawite too? anon1's sentence is confusing as written, chris. The first two times she uses "he" it refers to Erdogan; the third "he" is Assad. Sultan Recip I "the much beloved" is a Sufi Sunni, according to Wikipedia. Bashar al Assad is indeed Alawite, a Shiite heresy. |

#3 "I expect from religious authorities of Islam to find strong language in order to delimitate peaceful Islam from terrorism committed in the name of Islam." I expect that in the same way that I expect Publisher's Clearinghouse to knock on my door and tell my I won their gazillions for life award (despite the pesky fact that I never registered for it). |

#2 secondly Turkey is on the side of sunni Islamofascism as Erdogan has repeatedly sided with Islamic State, supported the Caliphate and sold its oil and the reason is, Erdogan wants a return of the Caliphate just with Ankara as the capital as it was under the Ottomans so he wants to support and co-opt Islamic State. He also loves Islamic State as they are fighting Assad whom he hates because he's an alawite and therefore "not a real muslim" and because they are fighting the kurds who he hates as he doesn't want them to get a homeland on his border so Islamic State are BFFs with Erdogan so why is Erdogan's turkey still in NATO? Because NATO is irrelevant. NATO was set up to confront the Evil Empire of communism which fell Now the enemy is Islamism and now Turkey is no longer our ally against the commies, they are our enemy in our new fight |
