McConnell: No Federal Money for Investigating Voter Fraud | |
2017-02-07 | |
McConnell told CNN's Jake Tapper that, although there are instances of voter fraud, he believes that it's not "as widespread as Trump claims" and that combating voter fraud should be an issue "best left to the states" instead of the federal government. "Election fraud does occur," he told CNN's State of the Union, adding that "there's no evidence that occurred in such a significant number that it would have changed the presidential election." "I don't think we ought to spend any federal money investigating that. I think the states can take a look at this issue. Many of them have tried to tighten their voter rolls, tried to purge people who are dead," McConnell said.

#12 The thing is, even if it didn't change the Presidential election it might very well have changed a number of Congressional districts and should be investigated. |

#11 More likely the esteemed Senator from Kentucky is concerned that it might also extend into his home state. |

#10 He's gonna leave it the Gov. Moonbeam to tighten the voter rolls in California? The man is a fool. |

#9 "there's no evidence that occurred in such a significant number that it would have changed the presidential election." "If they don't look, they can't find what we deny exists, so we'll prevent them from looking..." |

#7 No Money? Where did Obama find the millions/billions to bless the UN, Paleos, et al? "there's no evidence that occurred in such a significant number that it would have changed the presidential election." Oh, what about Senate (re:MN) and house races old man? |

#6 A perfect example of the "Inner Party" mentality. |

#5 Until 2013 the Federal Government was in de-facto charge of elections in southern, which were predominately Democrat, states. In June 2013, in a Importantly, however, the 5-4 decision did not strike down Section 5 itself, leaving it to Congress to devise a new coverage formula. The ACLU is working with Congress to do just that. |

#4 States are in charge of their own elections. |

#3 You can't be a crazy fool if you quote Blazing Saddles. To me, you are perfectly sane. |

#2 If it's a matter best left to the states, then the federal government ought to get out of the way. |

#1 California, Oregon, and Washington will never investigate Voter Fraud if left to their own devices. They have to protect their phoney-baloney jobs at all costs. |
