Matt Drudge suggests U.S. government cyberattack on Drudge Report website
2016-12-30
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Matt Drudge wondered aloud Thursday evening whether his popular site was the object of a U.S. government cyberattack.

Via the Twitter account for his Drudge Report, he said his news-aggregation site is the victim of the "biggest DDoS since site’s inception," referring to a Distributed Denial of Service attack.

"Is the US government attacking DRUDGE REPORT?" he asked, adding that there was "VERY suspicious routing [and timing]."

In a later tweet, Mr. Drudge said the "Attacking [was] coming from ’thousands’ of sources. Of course none of them traceable to Fort Meade," referring to the Maryland base that houses the headquarters of United States Cyber Command and the National Security Agency.

Mr. Drudge’s news-aggregation site was one of the highest-profile outlets to take a favorable tack on Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
during the 2016 presidential campaign.

#5  If you were planning a cyber attack against Russian sites, but wanted to see actual effects on a major site in the US so there would be no danger of catastrophic consequence, why not the site of an annoying political opponent ( in your opinion since only the WaPo and NYT are honest reporters).

#4  Gov cyber-attack on Drudge kind of sounds like a liberal's wet dream.

#3  "This is only a test. Had there been a real attack, all alt-right would have been directed to the nearest re-education facility. This is only a test."

#2  No, the guys at DHS had finished the attacks on all the states and major cities, and were just out joy riding the system.

A notable decline beyond 4:00 pm? Nothing on Saturday or Sunday? Nothing on MLK Day ?
