35-Mile Swiss Tunnel Opens to High-Speed Trains |
2016-12-13 |
After 17 years and 11 billion euros, the first Gotthard Base Tunnel passenger train departed Zurich on Sunday morning. The express train will save passengers 30 minutes on the trip. Was Governor Moonbeam on hand? At 6:09 a.m. the EC11 express train to Lugano was the first regular passenger train to depart for the tunnel after thousands of test runs. I rode thru the Channel Tunnel this spring. Very boring. |

#1 No. Moonbeam was not there. He might have big dreams but he has not the foggiest frickin' clue how to actually complete a project like this and he can't be bothered to ask the Swiss how they did it. Moonbeam's project is more of a gravy train for cronies. |
