| Morsi's son arrested as part of Rabaa dispersal case: Lawyers |

[AlAhram] Osama Morsi, the son of ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, was placed in durance vileInto the paddy wagon wit' yez! Thursday at his home in Sharqiya over charges related to what has been dubbed in the media as the Rabaa dispersal trial, according to Morsi's defense team. The younger Morsi has been named as one of 739 defendants in the case, which dates back to August 2013 and includes the Brotherhood's Supreme Guide Mohammed Badie and leading Brotherhood figure Mohammed El-Beltagy, as well as other senior Brotherhood members. The prosecution charged the defendants with "unauthorised assembly, the use of force, premeditated murder, and the possession of weapons and explosives" during the violent dispersal of a major 2013 Cairo sit-in protesting Morsi's ouster. Morsi's other son, Abdullah, served a one-year pirson sentence in 2015 for possession of hashish. |
