Gov. Chris Christie Signs Bill to Put Armed, Retired Cops in Schools for Security
2016-12-03
[Breitbart] New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) has signed legislation that will allow schools and colleges to hire armed, retired police officers to serve as security to protect students and teachers alike.

Christie’s signature comes during the very week in which a Somali refugee drove a car into a group of pedestrians, then chased unarmed students with a knife at Ohio State University.

According to NJ.com, the legislation, S86, allows schools and colleges to hire retired police officers as "special law enforcement officers."

Christie "conditionally vetoed" S86 two months ago because the first version did not require the retired officers to undergo "specialized training covering security issues that routinely arise in the school setting."

#3  TX 30.06 posted by property owners identifies 'felonious criminal trespass' as walking in the door with a gun. Licensed, concealed or not.

Seems to me 'possession', 'assault with/without a weapon' and 'intent to distribute' are also righteous laws that already exist for a reason and should be enforced. Leniency for "kids that don't understand" has one or more parents as accessories, perhaps 'premeditated' if they themselves are 'negligent'.

A lot of good laws, which if applied to 'first time offenders' will reduce the copycat cascade.

Do these old dudes still have arrest powers so they can engage with the feral kiddies without fear of DOJ civil suit retaliation?

#1  Cause retired cops at the airport working boarding security in Boston did such a fine job on 9/11, IIRC.

A new venue for patronage crony job opportunities.
