Scottish leader says new referendum on split from UK ‘very likely’
2016-06-25
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon says a new Scottish referendum on independence is "highly likely" because of Britannia’s vote to leave the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
She said Friday legislation will be prepared for a possible new vote.

Independence was defeated two years ago in a Scottish referendum.

Sturgeon said she would do everything possible to keep Scotland inside the EU. She said this means another referendum "has to be on the table."

Britannia’s decision to leave the EU represents a substantial, material change in Scotland’s relations and could justify another independence vote, she said.

The Scottish leader also praised British Prime Minister David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
, who has said he will resign when a new party leader is chosen before October.

#11  Mr. Conservative, how will Brexit effect the price of that luscious nectar?

I've run real short of the good stuff and would like to stock up if the price drops.

#7  From what I've read it seems the question is:

"Who says the EU wants you?"

#4  They may desire independence from Great Britain, and think breaking from the UK and joining the EU would give it to them. It would be independence in name only, and their EU masters would end up being more repressive than if they stayed with the UK.

#3  And what currency will you use, Nicola?

How will you denominate all the money you borrow?

Think it through dearie, it could get messy.

#2  and why would the now 18 billion euros and year down EU take over from the English in subsiding Rab-C-Nesbitt land?

#1  Every bit of the Eu should have a referendum. Those that want to be in the EU can join, those that don't can separate, and/or join into a variety of little groups nobody even thought of before. Personally Id love to see Bavaria and Tuscany join to be a rump-sized revival of the Holy Roman Empire.
