| #1 You can't ever pin the Left down to one principle or another. Their views are utterly ungrounded in anything save present advantage. We on the right tend to think in terms of guiding principles. As a result we commonly make the mistake of assuming the other side does the same. They don't. They talk about principles -- because they know that will help sell their message to us -- but they genuinely do not think that way. |
