| Kurd forces capture four villages near Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – On Monday, a security source in Nineveh Province announced, that the Peshmerga forces managed to liberate four villages northeast of Mosul (405 km north of Baghdad) from the ISIS control, while pointed out to the killing of two members of the Peshmerga during the liberation battles. The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The Peshmerga forces managed to liberate four villages northeast of Mosul from the ISIS control,” noting that, “ISIS members booby-trapped the villages with improvised explosive devices.” The source, who asked anonymity, added, “Two Peshmerga members were killed, while others were wounded during the liberation operation of these villages.” 22 ISIS troops die near Makhmur (iraqiNews.com) Nineveh – On Tuesday, an officer in the army’s 72nd brigade announced, that the army forces killed 22 ISIS members west of Makhmur, while repelling ISIS attack on the army’s headquarters in the district. Major General Amin Shekhani said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This morning, Iraqi army forces foiled an attack launched by ISIS on the areas of Kabrouk, Mahana and Kharbrdan west of Makhmur,” pointing out that, “ISIS used two booby-trapped vehicles during the attack.” Shekhani added, “The clashes resulted in the killing of 22 ISIS members.” |
