From Houston ABC13 news, there was one shooter -- the second 'suspect' was an unrelated armed man who tried to take the shooter down and was himself shot. Whether that was by the suspect or by police isn't clear from the report. The suspect was shot by a SWAT team officer, who apparently was the only law enforcement officer who fired a weapon. The victim was a customer at an auto parts store. The gas station next door was shot up by the suspect, who also shot at and hit a police helicopter.
So the two dead are the customer at the parts store and the suspect himself. The 2nd shooter is at the hospital; both wounded police officers were treated and released. One officer was shot in the chest but was protected by body armor; the second officer was wounded in the hand by flying debris from a shot. |
