Man arrested in Memorial Day cross vandalism

Follow-up on this story from yesterday.
[COURIER-JOURNAL] HENDERSON, Ky. -- A Henderson man has been enjugged
Please don't kill me!
 after he allegedly damaged more than 150 crosses in the downtown Memorial Day display with his vehicle early Saturday, according to officials.

Anthony Burrus, 27, was arrested in connection with the incident that took place in Central Park at around 6 a.m., according to Henderson Police Public Information Officer Jennifer Richmond. Roughly 160 crosses were knocked down and about 20 were destroyed.

It's a mistake that he wants to compensate for, by helping set up chairs at the ceremony. He has also offered to clean up all 5,000 crosses from the park.

"This was an accident, I did not mean to do any of this, I did not mean to cause any of you all this grief, I would just let them know that I did not mean to and from the bottom of my heart I am sorry," Burrus said.
