The elections are over, so no need to continue pretending to care.

#12  A fruity foodie old tutor of Harrow,
Abusing his usual marrow,
Consulted his herba1:
"Er, gerbil with chervil
Or rectum of sparrow with yarrow?"

#11   Bye bye Elections or some such thing

A weary old Muslim of Sarum,
Whose wives were unwilling to share him,
Had almost forgotten...
His borough was rotten!
To London went half of his harem.

#9  Of course the Arab traders...
AND (conveniently forgotten), black Africans themselves.
Village chiefs sold millions of their own people to those Arab traders.

#8  and although the Jewish role was marginal except for a few decades in a few place, the role of arab traders in the Slave trade was significant over centuries and in many parts of the Islamic world

Jackie wouldn't believe it though

#7  You're spouting facts, #6 EC?

How dare you use facts? You'll confuse the idiots and spoil the narrative!

#6  "‘chief financiers’ of human market were Jewish"?

That's simply not true. Suriname and Curacao (Dutch colonies), and to a lesser degree also Barbados were the only places where Jews played a significant (but rather shortlived) role in the slave trade. Globally speaking the Jewish role was marginal.

The chief financiers of the 16th century were super rich German merchant families (Fugger and Welser), and they were not Jewish.

#5  Bye bye Elections or some such thing they have over the Atlantic. They can be forced by a rabbit hitting a trip-wire in any of the distance hustings. The Woolsack (like our own cabbage tree) might play a part along with the Dutchy of Lanplaster et. Al.

#4  I still don't understand.

Is Jackie Walker an elected official who was standing for office on May 5?

Vice-chairs are hard to come by, so I've heard.

#2  The elections were May 5th, lord garth, preceded by a rolling sequence of over fifty Labour politicians being censured by the party for antisemitism. That nice Labour Pakistani-Brit was elected lord mayor of London.
