[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A top Taliban capo was killed during a shootout with the intelligence operatives in the central Pashtun-infested Logar province of Afghanistan. The National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS) said the commander identified as Mohammad Rahim was killed as the NDS operatives were busy conducting a special military raid in Khoshi district. A statement by NDS said Rahim was involved in major terrorist related activities in Khoshi district before he was killed by the intelligence operatives. The statement further added that two others accompanying Rahim were also killed during the shootout and have been identified as Mohammad Alam and Mohammad Wali. The intelligence operatives seized 2 Ak-47 rifles, 1 rocket launcher and a cycle of violence following the operation, NDS added. According to the footage released by NDS, numerous weapons, business cards, Pak currency and phone numbers have also been confiscated from the snuffies killed or detained during the operation. The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far. Pashtun-infested Logar is among the relatively volatile provinces in central Afghanistan where anti-government armed snuffies are active in a number of its districts who are frequently attempting to carry out insurgency activities. |
