Egypt court sentences 76 more pro-Morsi supporters | |

[AA.TR] A court in Cairo sentenced 76 pro-Morsi supporters to 10 years in prison Wednesday on various charges, including acts of violence and staging protests without permits, according to an unnamed judicial source.
Book 'im, Mahmoud! on Aug. 30, 2013, while protesting the Rabia and al-Nahda incidents on Aug. 14, the same year. Among the people sentenced is a deceased Moslem Brüderbund leader, Farid Ismail. Ismail was put into jail last year and died two days later in May 2015. Hundreds of supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi, who was Egypt’s first democratically-elected leader, were killed in August 2013 when security forces violently cleared their sit-in at Cairo’s Rabaa al-Adawiya Square. | |
