US diplomat looks to market Iran deal to wary firms
2016-03-24
[IsraelTimes] Chris Backemeyer seeks to convince skeptical companies to invest in Tehran amid fears of renewed sanctions

Two months after the implementation of last year’s landmark nuclear agreement, a US diplomat is on an unlikely mission -- promoting the Iran deal to firms that want to tap into its massive market but fear other sanctions, or that the next American president could scrap the deal.

It’s not an easy task for Chris Backemeyer or other Americans on the equivalent of a nuclear deal roadshow, especially as Iran’s Revolutionary Guard continues to fire off ballistic missiles and US Republican presidential candidates vow to tear up the pact if elected.

#1  Perhaps she should throw in a few shillings and see if they dig with more enthusiasm.

Dr Leander Starr Jameson speaking of Rhodes – “His favourite Sunday pastime was to go into the De Beers native compound, where he had built them a fine swimming bath, and throw in shillings for the natives to dive for. He knew enough of their languages to talk to them freely, and they looked up to him – indeed, fairly worshipped the great white man.”
