Japan tests prototype stealth aircraft |
2016-03-01 |
Japan's Defense Ministry has conducted a test-run of its first prototype stealth aircraft. The test took place at Nagoya Airport in Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, on Wednesday. Defense Minister Gen Nakatani observed the trial from a Self-Defense Force base adjacent to the airport. The plane sped down the runway for about 500 meters at a speed of about 100 kilometers per hour. Nakatani told reporters after the test that the project appears to be moving ahead smoothly. He said he has high hopes for the development of Japanese fighter jets and technological innovation in the aviation industry. More than 200 Japanese companies have been working on the stealth prototype for 7 years. |

#4 Sure this 'stealth' aircraft isn't the fabled Mitsubishi Regional Jet? that was supposed to be in service 4 years ago and has only just started test flights. And then grounded after the first flight for fuselage and landing gear 'enhancements.' |
