| Iraqi koppers detain 34 in Babel |

| (IraqiNews.com) Babel – On Thursday the head of the security committee in Babel Provincial Council, Falah al-Radi, announced the arrest of 34 wanted individuals on criminal charges north of the province. Radi said in a brief statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “A force from the police carried out raids and searches in the district of Alexandria (50 km north of Babel), resulting in the arrest of 34 wanted individuals, including two [persons] in accordance with Article IV of the Anti-Terrorism Act,” pointing out that, “The force found mortar shells in an abandoned area west of the district.” Radi added, “The operation was carried out in accordance with accurate intelligence,” noting that, “the detainees were taken to a police station for interrogation.” |
