US running out of bombs to drop on ISIS: CNN
2015-12-06
[NATION.PK] The U.S. Air Force has fired off more than 20,000 missiles and bombs since the U.S. bombing campaign against ISIS began 15 months ago, according to the Air Force, leading to depleted munitions stockpiles and calls to ramp up funding and weapons production.

As the U.S. ramps up its campaign against the Islamist terror group in Iraq and Syria, the Air Force is now "expending munitions faster than we can replenish them," Air Force chief of staff Gen. Mark Welsh said in a statement.

"B-1s have dropped bombs in record numbers. F-15Es are in the fight because they are able to employ a wide range of weapons and do so with great flexibility. We need the funding in place to ensure we're prepared for the long fight," Welsh said in the statement. "This is a critical need."

The bombing campaign has left the U.S. Air Force with what an Air Force official described as munitions depot stocks "below our desired objective."

#10  IIRC, as per TOPIX, BIGNEWSNETWORK, + DEFENCE.pk?FORUMS the USAF is having serious or detrimental problems wid its manning levels, repor being able to routinely man important or many mission areas or requirements at only 80-85% [plus-minus] of what is needed.

AT CURRENT RATES, THE USAF FEARS SIGNIFICANT OR UNIVERSAL "MISSION COLLAPSE", WID MANY HIGHY-SKILLED PILOTS AND SERVICEMEMBERS LEAVING DUE TO DEBILATATING SHEER EXHAUSTION + RELATED HEALTH EFFECTS.

#9  #8 If they actually dropped them on targets, maybe they wouldn't need so many.

A late entry for Snark of the Day!

#7  Bombs fall fast asleep over Homs,
And whine about crap inflight noms,
Paint long rows of planes
On maneuvering vanes,
And believe they'll go home to their moms.

#2  Or use the American war stocks located in Israel. They already being in the region.

"below our desired objective." is the key.

The objective stock of JDAMS kits alone was 100,000 units. It's probably higher now.

Nov 24, 2015: Boeing Wins $262M U.S. Air Force Contract for JDAM Tail kits

There's your 20K kits and a few more for good luck.
