Two security posts have fell to Taliban militants in Pashtun Kot District of northern Faryab province, an official said on Saturday.Governor of Pashtun Kot District said five security posts were surrounded by Taliban since one week.
He said Taliban seized two of the five posts last night and 10 policemen who were on duty there have been missing with their belongings.
The district governor warned if reinforcement does not reach in Pashtun Kot District three more posts would fall to Taliban and endanger the lives of about 40 policemen.
Farah which was comparatively a safe province in the northern part of the country witnessed severe insecurity this year.
Several deadly clashes took place between militants and security forces in this province.
Last month, Taliban attacked the province’s Ghormach District and controlled it for several days.
They also captured the district’s police chief with 12 other policemen and later martyred them.
