How the U.S. Tides Foundation helped give Trudeau a majority |
2015-10-23 |
See the video at the link [rebel.media] The organizers behind the "Vote Together" campaign that brought the split left vote together in conservative swing ridings was partially funded by foreign cash. I know that because I follow Vivian Krause@FairQuestions on Twitter. She does the often complex work of tracking foreign money that funds many anti-oil and gas campaigns in Canada. Under section 358 of the Canada Elections Act, it's illegal for third parties to use foreign cash to campaign. Through Vivian's efforts, I now know that the U.S. based Tides Foundation funded Leadnow.ca -- and Leadnow.ca coordinated strategic voting efforts across the country through their more visible "Vote Together" campaign. Did the foreign funded "Vote Together" initiative push Justin Trudeau to a majority government? Was this costly, well organized effort only about getting rid of Stephen Harper -- or is there another motivation that is as well hidden as the foreign funders? |
