...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
-based private TV channels and their staff members, Afghan journalists came together for a presser on Tuesday and warned that if media organizations or their staff members are harmed they will stop publishing Taliban news.

They said that the first step is to boycott the coverage of their stories and other decisions would be made afterwards.

Media does not belong to any warring side and attack on it amounts to 'war crimes', they added.

They urged Afghan government and related international organizations for support.

In a statement released on Monday, Taliban accused 1TV and Tolo television channels of propagating against them and threatened to attack them and their staff members.

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan from now onwards does not recognize Tolo and 1 TV channels as media outlets but designates them as military objectives due to their disrespectful and hostile actions towards the Afghan Mujahid nation." The blurb stated.

"Hereafter all the news hounds and associates of these channels will be deemed enemy personnel, all of their centers, offices and dispatched teams will be considered military objectives which will be directly eliminated." The statement threatens.
