Abdullah Urges Review Of Peace Talks Strategy
2015-10-04
[Tolo News] Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
, the CEO of the Afghan National Unity Government (NUG), has called for the review of the strategy around the peace talks with the Taliban.

Speaking in New York on Friday night, Abdullah said that the door for peace talks is still open but that the government's strategy on the matter needs to be re-assessed.

His comments come amid rising attacks in the northern parts of the country by the Taliban.

"Well, the talks door will stay open. After the death of Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
(former Taliban leader) there is a difference in the Taliban and some of the Taliban groups have contacted us and we will continue (our contact with them) but overall there is a need to review the strategy," Abdullah said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shattered spaceship, Fffflirgoll the Arcturan slithered stealthily toward the control room, where the humans had barricaded themselves...
a number of political analysts have raised concerns about the increase in violence in the country and agreed that there is a need to review the peace talks.

One Senator, Lailuma Ahmadi said: "There is a need to review the talks strategy so we can move forward with the grinding of the peace processor with the Taliban and other Lions of Islam groups. It would be a good proposal as long as it is in the best interests of Afghanistan and the interests of stability and peace in Afghanistan."

Barna Salehi, a political analyst said that "without doubt it would have a better impact on the grinding of the peace processor".

The first round of peace talks was officially held on July 7 in Islamabad but after the announcement of the death of Mullah Omar, the talks scheduled for the end of July were postponed and the process fell apart.
