| Freelance reporter brutally killed in Badakhshan grenade attack |

| [Khaama (Afghanistan)] A freelance news hound was brutally killed in an kaboom apparently triggered by a hand grenade in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan. According to the local government officials, the news hound was identified as Yama and was killed in his residence in Faizabad, the capital city of Badakhshan province. Provincial police front man Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai said the hand grenade was fixed in the door of Yama's house and went kaboom!when he opened the door. Ahmadzai further added that Yama was asked by a number of unknown individuals through telephone call to come out of his house. No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident. The brutal murder of Yama was strongly condemned by Afghan Journalist Safety Committee (AJSC), a media advocate independent group, has condemned the incident. At least one Afghan journalist has been killed and four others maimed during the period, AJSC said. |
