The detained Lions of Islam were responsible for planting mines on the Khost-Gardez highway, said NDS - the Afghan intelligence agency - in a statement to media.
"We began our activities by attacking a convoy of supplies," the statement quoted a detained Haqqani holy warrior named Rohullah as saying.
Arms and vehicles belonging to the Lions of Islam were also seized, the statement added.
"We got the suicide kaboom training about 12 days ago when commander Bilal asked us to conduct a suicide attack," another Haqqani member named Shakeel Rahman told NDS.
This came only few days after the United States black listed senior Haqqani Network leader, Aziz Haqqani, and declared him a terrorist.
